The Division of Protection (DOD) is requesting roughly $114 million to finance its newest spherical of variety initiatives.
The DOD plans to make use of the funds for “variety, fairness, inclusion, and accessibility” (DEIA) applications in fiscal 12 months 2024.
“The FY 2024 President’s Funds request demonstrates the DoD’s dedication to DEIA and contains $114.7 million for devoted variety and inclusion actions,” the division wrote in its Strategic Administration Plan for fiscal 12 months 2022 to 2026.

It continues, “This funding throughout the Army Departments, OSD Workplace of Variety, Fairness, and Inclusion, and the Protection Equal Alternative Administration Institute is investing in applications and initiatives aimed toward furthering DEIA, and incorporating DEIA values, goals, and concerns in how we do enterprise and execute our missions.”
The funding request is the most important of its sort but for the DOD, which earmarked $68 million for DEIA initiatives in fiscal 12 months 2022 and $86.5 million in fiscal 12 months 2023, based on stories from the Day by day Wire.
“Leaders in any respect ranges are accountable for fostering a local weather of inclusion that helps variety, is free from problematic behaviors, and doesn’t tolerate retaliation or reprisal towards these submitting complaints,” the DOD beforehand wrote in its Fiscal Yr 2024 Funds Request.
